“GENDER EQUALITY” two words which have been topic of debate since decades, many people have their own perceptions, their own views but we still haven’t drawn any significant conclusion yet, with this we present 12th episode of SHARDA TALK featuring Srishti Upadhyay speaking on “FREEDOM OF GIRLS” or as said by her “FREEDOM FOR GIRLS”. Srishti comments that we all have heard that about how boys are touching the skies, how their achievements are endless, but when it comes to girls, leave alone touching the skies we don’t even allow them to go out from their homes. She says that girls should also be given wings to fly, yes they might fall down, yes they even might do mistakes but eventually they will learn, spread their wings and fly higher and touch the skies. Srishti speaks that how girls are not even allowed to move out of their houses in night because everyone believes, that something wrong might happen to them, she speaks why to stop your girls from moving out in the night due to the fear of rape, what’s her mistake in that?, why don’t we stop our boys and slap them when they comment on a girl. Srishti gives us so many such examples and concludes her speech by saying that, she is not a feminist and doesn’t want girls to be higher than boys, nor she wants that a boy should stand up in a bus or a metro giving her his seat, all she seeks for is equality and a civil society where everyone is treated with a same respect…
